The drumming magic is back in Baltimore and the celebrate, the 11th edition of the Baltimore International Rhythm Festival is just around the corner, September 28 & 29, at St John's United Methodist Church --- St Paul & 27th (the heart of Peabody Heights and Charles Village).
There are a few open slots left for performances on the outdoor stage. If anyone is interested, just give me a shout.
As for the main acts, BIRDS is proud to announce Mahiri Fadjimba Keïta and friends, Shodekeh ( Beatboxing), Freek Factory (Nu-Funk New York underground, bass and drums), & Mz Imani and the Rhythm Shamans. This is just a partial listing of the various rhythm weavers that will be performing. More names will be announced as details become available.
Now's the time to start making plans to join the Baltimore International Rhythm and Drumming Society (BIRDS) in this annual celebration of world rhythmical traditions. Keep checking back for further updates and take a look at our website:www.drumtogether.net, for more details and schedules.
If anyone knows of any folks who might wish to take part in the festival marketplace, please refer them to the website. A vendor's pack is downloadable as a .pdf file. It only costs $65 to reserve a space. A great value that can potentially reach several thousand people.
The magic is only starting. There is so much more to come!!!
